My husband is a super talented disc jockey. Yup, that's what ''dj'' stands for. Disc Jockey sounds really weird like musical underwear. Anyway, I dance to his mixes all the time. I'm a dancer, His a dj. That is NOT how we met. We met 13 years ago :)
Do yourself a favor, Listen and Dance the cold weather away.

EyeLash Extensions Horror Movie
Yesterday I made the spontaneous decision to get false eye lash extensions. I'm a fan of them because I have really stubbly eyelashes and even putting eyeliner on makes them look really small. I tried them at my wedding and I had no need to put on eye shadow or mascara because of the ba bam factor. So I decided I will try the lashes that stay put for a whole month instead of buying eyelashes and storing them. That would be freaky.
I went to DreamNails in Cape Gate with my Sister- In- Law who was really interested in this process. I had no idea what to expect but okay off we go. I had to lay down on this heated bed (seriously need to invest in these for winter) which would of been comfortable if I had been lying on the pillow but I couldn't because the beautician needed that weird angle that gave me a neck cramp and a half. Very relaxing, you know. By nature, I stress quite easily but in a funny way. Like I literally laugh uncontrollably when I am stressed or nervous. So of course laying down while you are trying to TAPE my bottom lashes to my FACE. I will stress.
Trying to not laugh drained my concentration. I can't remember the exact song playing in the background. I do know this: It was an old song. A bad old song. It was annoying. It was on repeat. So my lashes are taped and stuff. I look like someone beat me up in a deserted alleyway. Nice. And she starts doing her thing. She glued the lashes on one for one. At first I thought she's putting reeds on my eyes. At times she pressed too hard it felt like reedy- ish. And me thinking: YES. Walk with trees on your eyes. And after a gazillion hours she's done.
Stabbing me with reeds are clearly not torturous enough. Let's unglue her lashes that got STUCK together. The pain. I would rather give birth again, To twins. Than experience that feeling. Gosh.
A picture for your benefit. unedited and everything.
Anyway: Here's me with darker hair and stubbly eyelashes
And this me with lighter hair and longer lashes.
.
P.S I Had a headache afterwards and looked as if I was crying for at least 3 hours straight. So for anyone really enthusiastic about doing this= Paracetamol and Dark Shades
This could seem really dumb to some people but I don't care
Why do you put plastic on your fingers? That's common.
(Don't GO for your lashes, Its Horrible)

Slight Reunion
Our singing group had a slight reunion today. It was a good one, why wouldn't it be? Laughing, Singing, Sinful Snacks and lunch made by my Husband (Yes, he cooks goooood). I'm quite enthusiastic to explore that creative side of mine. Usually it is dancing that takes up most of my interest in arts. Whilst singing I noticed that my voice is even huskier. Not sure where that came from...
Hopefully you enjoyed your Saturday

Plum Runner
The weekend was super special. Rome's christening took place yesterday and my Husband and I had a 9 monthiversary. Even though you seem present each and everyday, time still catches up with you. Your left wondering, was Rome really that big yesterday or is it my imagination? I love being a mother. I'm quite courageous when it comes to comes to being myself. I found out ages ago, trying to be someone else not only sucks completely but its highly impossible and your only going to make yourself unhappy. But being a mother makes you proud of who you are. Makes you do things that you always thought of but never had the time to do. Hope everyone had a lovely weekend!

Beluga
My official birthday was on Monday, 8 of April. It was super chilled with family at Beluga near the V&A waterfront. Stunner of a place. I love the vibe there. Although the dimmed lights and muted chatter suits couples better, I dragged my big family over there. First time in my life that we have to reserve a table for 8 and a half. One thing I discovered these past few weeks is that I really suck at walking on high heels. It's not even funny. OK, it is when I almost break my ankle and recover quickly. But seriously, I want to be those girls that can run in their heels. I'm pretty sure I will be needing this trait once I work for a fashion magazine, You know, Devil wears Prada and all that. Enough rambling... Here are a few snaps from the supper at Beloogs as I like to call it. Enjoy!

Birthday Weekend- The Series Part 3
We did so many fun things the Saturday . From the Stalls Market to the Ice Cream shop to the Book store in Gordon's Bay. Highly recommended: Bikini Books Book store. It has pillar high books in like a hundred different rooms. I was so lost. It is a second hand book store so you can get a number of books at a very affordable price. Sadly, this will be the last post on my weekend away. But I have so many other things to share as well.
Happy Thursday!

When I Grow Up
I would love to have an office with an Apple computer , white as the core and touches of pastel. I love the idea of an at home office. Just the best of both worlds. I'm planning on becoming so successful that I can work from home. I still need to figure out what business I can create :) .
Enjoy!

Heaven: It's Ferrero Rocher
This. Is. What. Life. Is. All. About
Jokes, but it does make things seem a whole lot brighter! Husband bought me two of these only because I ate the first one without photographing it and I explained this was vital to the blog. So he bought a second one so that I could show you guys!
Any other Easter Eggs the size of Jupiter I should know about?
Happy Wednesday!

Dear Rome
On the 1st of June I heard you were on your way. I was extremely surprised and yes, scared.
You see, I didn't know that much of babies and I considered myself the weirdest person I knew.
So how was I going to take care of a little person, the half of me. These thoughts made me even more quiet than usual and those around me told me how I should feel.

8 Month Anniversary
One day you will meet a guy. And ultimately, he is going to find out. How you chew, how you sip, how you dance, how you smell at every point in the day. How your face looks beneath your make- up. How you love chocolate, how you can be hyper at times, how certain games and shows can make you really happy. How cranky you get when your tired, how you think you look bad in all your photos. He is going to know everything about you.
And you know what?
He is still going to love you
And you know what?
He is still going to love you

Like Father, Like Son
These pictures were taken on Sunday after church. My little Baby Rome is wearing his first suit, bow tie included. His growing up so fast and becoming more beautiful by the day. The photographer was my very dedicated sister- in -law who does not mind rolling in the dust with heels on to get a good angle for a photo. I stood by and marvelled at my beautiful family. I wore my leather dress, don't know if it is my imagination but I look thinner in it than the last time. And I changed my choice of shoes from black peep toes to dusty pink round toe heels. The dress I bought at Mr Price - the Amber Jones Collection and shoes from Legit.

Street Art
Although Graffiti in public spaces are called vandalism, one cannot deny the fact that some of these pieces on the street is simply beautiful. Cape Town is no different. I think that graffiti artists are probably the most degraded artists in art culture but probably have the most raw talent. These artists usually have no formal training and design large and detailed masterpieces with no payment. Next time you come face to face marvel in this free exhibition. This is adding colour to your world for free. Happy Monday!

Fitness Friday
As some of you might know, I am in the process of losing my post- pregnancy weight. There's been moments of elation and depression . Nevertheless, I promised myself I would not push myself to ridiculous measures and going slow would be the best option. Here is a post that will hopefully inspire you to live a healthy lifestyle, which is extremely difficult but possible.

Holi One Festival: the Cape Town Edition
Not really into concerts, carnivals and festivals but seeing these pictures totally changed my mind! The colours, The People.. Looks like so much fun. The main aim of the Holi Festivals which is actually an Indian tradition known as the festival of Colours is to promote peace hence the name. Definitely on my bucket list...

Baby Shower Part 2: A Family Affair
Today I have decided to Share photos of my second Baby Shower. In a previous post I shared some photos of my friends hosting my baby shower on the beach. This post features the Family Baby Shower that my Lovely and Creative Mother- in Law hosted for me. Its amazing how she kept things under wraps the entire week. I had no clue whatsoever. The greatest part of my baby showers: I was NOT drenched in flour. Although I had to spell my name with my huge belly. Something which came to be my undiscovered talent... Enjoy and Subscribe!

MotherHood
When you are pregnant, you can think of nothing but having your own body to yourself again. Yet after giving birth you realize the biggest part of you is somehow external, subject to all dangers and disappearances, so you spend the rest of your life trying to figure out how to keep close for comfort. That is the strange thing about being a mother. Until you have a baby, you don't even realize how much you were missing one.
