Diary of A Dancer (2)

Dancing has been going extremely well lately. As I have mentioned in a previous "Diary of A Dancer'' post, I've been training the Dancers at my church. And it has been such an experience. I gave them a task called ''Levels and Planes'' whereby they had to explore levels and contours in order to add depth to their dancing. The task resulted in seeing such a high level of talent. So blessed to be surrounded by people who each have their own unique sense of style.

For myself, I have constantly been thinking about ways to push myself and the group. As a dancer, you need to grow. The simplest way to do that is to maintain a spiritual relationship with GOD (this does not include trying to be perfect) and practising on your own. If your still in the beginning stages then this does not apply. If your a beginner, I would suggest watching other dancers, listening to various types of music and interpreting it, knowing the basic moves of any form of dance of your choice and practising it thoroughly.

Our Dance Leader is getting married this March so to ease the stress off she has asked me to prepare the Dancers for Easter! I am very excited, as teaching choreography is extremely stressful but SO rewarding!

Dance is about many things, But one thing it is not is incompleteness.
